No Burger, No Cocktail: Kuma’s Corner Drops Disturbed Collaboration After Controversy

Indianapolis Kuma’s Corner has pulled Disturbed-themed cocktail and burger following controversy, citing “the discovery of recent events” as the reason

The Indianapolis branch of Kuma’s Corner has removed their Disturbed cocktail and burger, citing “the discovery of recent events” as the reason. You can see their Instagram post down below.

Disturbed is currently on the road with their “The Sickness: 25th Anniversary” tour, which includes an upcoming stop at Indianapolis’ Gainbridge Fieldhouse on April 9. In anticipation of the show, the Indianapolis location of metal-themed restaurant Kuma’s Corner had planned to offer a Disturbed-inspired burger and cocktail. However, the promotion was withdrawn after customer feedback expressing concerns over the collaboration with the band.

Kuma’s Corner released the following statement regarding their receent decision:

“After the discovery of recent events, we here at Kuma’s Corner Indy have decided to pull the Disturbed burger and cocktail promotion scheduled to run this weekend. We sincerely apologize this oversight on our end and the values expressed by this band are not a representation of Kuma’s as a brand. We are using this as an opportunity to expand our research further for future band collaborations. Thank you to our loyal customers for bringing these concerns to our attention. “

While no official reason was provided for the backlash, speculation points to frontman David Draiman’s outspoken support of Israel as a likely factor. Over the past year, Draiman has drawn controversy for publicly backing the Israel Defense Forces, including posing with military personnel and signing artillery. Though Disturbed hasn’t faced any direct scandals recently, the band’s social media comment sections reveal a sharply divided fanbase over Draiman’s political stance.

As mentioned above, Disturbed is currently touring, celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Sickness, joined by Daughtry and Nothing More. Each show features a two-part performance: the band opens by playing The Sickness in its entirety, followed by a second set packed with greatest hits. You can buy tickets now, but don’t expect any themed burgers this time around.
