The Sahara stage at Coachella witnessed a massive electronic-industrial crossover on Saturday, April 11, with the live debut of Nine Inch Noize. The brand-new collaborative project features Nine Inch Nails masterminds Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross teaming up with German electronic producer Boys Noize.
The highly anticipated set delivered a heavy dose of reimagined tracks from the extensive Nine Inch Nails catalog. The trio didn’t do it alone, either. Reznor‘s wife and How To Destroy Angels bandmate, Mariqueen Maandig Reznor, joined the group on stage to provide vocals for several songs. Alongside the reworked Nine Inch Nails staples, the collective performed a remixed version of How To Destroy Angels‘ “Parasite” and a cover of the 1981 Soft Cell classic “Memorabilia“.
True to form for any project involving Trent Reznor, the performance featured top-tier production, complete with intricate lighting and stage choreography. Fans who missed the initial livestream can currently catch a reuploaded version of the broadcast over on Archive.org.
This live debut is just the beginning. The group is officially dropping their debut release this coming Friday, April 17, with more details expected soon.
