The niece of late Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr has officially entered the WWE universe. Wrestling under the ring name Lizzy Rain, the British performer made her promotional debut during the April 21 broadcast of NXT, WWE‘s weekly developmental television program, showcasing a highly stylized 1980s heavy metal persona.

Previously known on the independent circuit as Rayne Leverkusen, she was featured in a promotional video package announcing her first televised in-ring match for the following week. Accompanied by a heavy metal soundtrack, she delivered a direct message to the audience:

“They said I was too loud, too gritty, too unapologetic, but I will never apologise for who I am, and that is Lizzy Rain and heavy metal, baby! The stage is set next week for my NXT debut and the world is about to find out that Lizzy Rain and heavy metal will never, ever, never, ever die!”

Prior to signing with the global sports entertainment giant, the wrestler competed extensively in the UK. She notably captured the Progress Women’s Championship while performing under “The Maiden Of Metal” moniker—a direct tribute to her uncle’s musical legacy. She ultimately secured her WWE contract after being named the MVP of a tryout camp in August 2025.

Her uncle, Clive Burr, was a foundational piece of Iron Maiden, joining the pioneering British group in 1979. His signature drumming style anchored the band’s highly influential first three studio albums: 1980’s Iron Maiden, 1981’s Killers, and 1982’s The Number Of The Beast.

He was let go from the band in December 1982 toward the end of their global touring cycle. Bassist and founder Steve Harris, along with co-manager Rod Smallwood, later cited declining live performances as the reason for his dismissal. Following his departure, Clive Burr went on to play for acts such as French rock group Trust (replacing Nicko McBrain, who took his spot in Iron Maiden) and the supergroup Gogmagog, which featured former Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di’Anno.

In the late 1990s, Clive Burr was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. His former bandmates rallied to support him, establishing the Clive Burr MS Trust Fund and hosting multiple tribute concerts to assist with his ongoing medical costs. He passed away from complications related to the disease on March 12, 2013, at the age of 57.
