Nickelback are officially heading back to the wrestling ring. The massive sports entertainment promotion WWE has announced that the band’s newly released single, “Bones For The Crows“, will serve as an official theme song for WrestleMania 42. The two-night stadium spectacular is scheduled to take place on April 18 and April 19, 2026, at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.
While the track was officially distributed to digital streaming platforms on Friday, March 20, its origins actually date back a few years. “Bones For The Crows” was originally composed in 2023 for the action role-playing video game “Dungeon Hunter 6.” It currently stands as the diamond-certified group’s first new release since their November 2022 studio album, Get Rollin.
WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque broke the news on social media, praising the enduring partnership between the wrestling juggernaut and the rock outfit.
“They’ve rocked with us for over 20 years, and their new song will soundtrack the Grandest Stage of Them All. @Nickelback’s ‘Bones For The Crows’ is an official #WrestleMania theme song,” Triple H wrote.
This latest collaboration adds another chapter to a long-standing relationship between the two entities. Nickelback famously provided the explosive theme song “Burn It To The Ground” for Monday Night Raw from 2009 to 2012, and even performed live at a WWE event in 2011. Other catalog hits like “Rockstar” and “Edge of a Revolution” have also been featured across WWE programming over the years. By taking the marquee spot for WrestleMania 42, the rock band effectively breaks a six-year streak previously held by pop superstar The Weeknd. Additionally, a collaborative rendition of “Back in the Saddle” by Aerosmith and Yungblud has been heavily featured in recent promotional material for the event.
The heavy soundtrack will back a massive weekend of high-profile championship bouts. The stacked Las Vegas card currently includes Roman Reigns taking on CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship, and Cody Rhodes defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton. The women’s division is equally packed, featuring Rhea Ripley challenging Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Title, alongside Stephanie Vaquer defending her Women’s World Championship against Liv Morgan.
