Slipknot’s early-era track “(sic)” has found an unexpected new spotlight, appearing in a newly released short film created for Gucci’s latest pre-fall campaign.
The project, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jonathan Glazer (The Zone of Interest, Sexy Beast), incorporates a brief segment of the 1999 Slipknot classic, originally featured on the band’s self-titled debut album. The film has been released online as part of Gucci’s ongoing visual campaign rollout, pairing high-fashion imagery with an unconventional and intense sonic backdrop.
Alongside this surprising fashion collaboration, Slipknot also recently made headlines in the physical music world with the exclusive Record Store Day release of their long-shelved project Look Outside Your Window.
Unlike their heavy, aggressive studio albums, this material presents a stark contrast to the band’s signature sound. Recorded during the sessions for 2008’s All Hope Is Gone, the project was developed by Shawn “Clown” Crahan alongside Corey Taylor, Jim Root, and Sid Wilson. The group deliberately stepped away from Slipknot’s established style, instead exploring a more experimental and atmospheric direction.
Crahan first spoke publicly about the sessions in 2018, describing them as a creative outlet formed during downtime in the studio. The idea, he explained, was to work outside expectations and allow a freer, more experimental approach to songwriting without the pressure of delivering a traditional Slipknot record.
Although Look Outside Your Window is currently available only in physical form through Record Store Day, online speculation has grown after what appears to be a brief leak on the event’s official marketplace.
According to a discovery shared by a Reddit user, a hidden listing suggested a potential wider release date of Friday, June 12 at 8:00 AM. The same information also pointed to a possible “go live” date of Tuesday, May 19, which may indicate when official announcements or pre-orders could begin.
At this time, the listing reportedly references only CD and vinyl formats, with no confirmation regarding streaming availability. Neither Slipknot nor their camp has commented on the rumored details, leaving fans waiting for clarification on whether the long-discussed project will finally see a broader release.
