Sharon Osbourne has made her first public comment since the death of her husband of 43 years, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, as new reports detail the medical emergency and frantic efforts to save his life in his final hours.
On Wednesday, July 23, one day after the world learned of Ozzy‘s passing at age 76, Sharon broke her social media silence with a simple, poignant message of gratitude. Responding to a heartfelt tribute post from Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale on Instagram, she wrote a two-word comment: “Bless you.”
Her quiet acknowledgment comes as a clearer picture forms of the tragic events that unfolded at the couple’s Buckinghamshire home on Tuesday. New details have emerged regarding the final moments of legendary Black Sabbath frontman. It has been revealed that an air ambulance was urgently dispatched to Osbourne‘s multi-million-pound country estate in Buckinghamshire as paramedics worked to save his life.
The Thames Valley air ambulance reportedly landed in a field near Welders House, Osbourne‘s Grade II listed mansion, around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Emergency services were alerted to a critical situation at the residence, prompting the immediate deployment of the helicopter from RAF Benson in Wallingford, Oxfordshire.
Sources indicate that the air ambulance crew spent approximately two hours with Osbourne at his home, attempting to revive him before his passing. The helicopter was observed departing the property around 12:30 p.m.
Local residents in Jordans, a village adjoining the Osbourne estate, noted the unusual presence of the helicopter, realizing that “something serious” was unfolding. “All of us were talking about it and wondering what had happened. We immediately feared it may be for him as he was known to be in fragile health,” one unnamed resident told MailOnline. Another local, Jane, also witnessed the landing, commenting, “I was out walking when I saw the helicopter landing close to Welders and realised something serious was happening.”
“When we heard later that night that he had died it confirmed our worst fears,” said one resident.
Amid the tragedy, Ozzy‘s sister shared that she was glad her brother was able to pass away in England, as he had been “yearning to return home” after two decades in Los Angeles. Osbourne had publicly stated that one of his primary motivations for leaving the United States was his frustration with gun violence.
Tributes from across the entertainment world have continued to pour in, including a moving message from close family friend Sir Elton John. “He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods – a true legend,” John wrote. “He was also one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I will miss him dearly.”
The Osbourne family announced Ozzy‘s death on Tuesday evening, confirming he was “surrounded by love,” and have asked for privacy as they mourn.
