Poland’s undisputed kings of extreme metal, Behemoth, have unleashed a visually arresting music video for their latest single, “Lvciferaeon“, a a fierce composition from their highly anticipated thirteenth studio album, The Shit Ov God, which is set to detonate on May 9th via Nuclear Blast Records.
Following in Behemoth‘s tradition of cinematic and spectacular visuals, the video for “Lvciferaeon” is saturated with their signature blasphemous imagery. You can see the video down below.
Much like their previous single, “The Shadow Elite“, this new track masterfully fuses the raw intensity of their black metal origins with the sweeping, vicious grandeur that defines modern-era Behemoth. Prepare to be captivated by both the sonic assault and the stunning visual landscape of “Lvciferaeon“, the latest glimpse into Behemoth’s forthcoming opus.
Behemoth founder and frontman Adam “Nergal“ Darski shared his thoughts: “It seems fitting to announce ‘Lvciferaeon‘ as our next single amongst all the protest activity seen on the streets of the Unholy Trinity Tour. Lucifer has been a recurring symbol for us over our three decades of existence – a symbol of defiance and humanity in contrast to the divine ideal. Our fight continues!”
Nergal previously made comments about their upcoming album: “I have reached a point in the journey of Behemoth and my own creativity where words and explanations have less and less meaning. The true essence of who we are and what we stand for lies in our music, our art, our visuals, our sound, our performances and in the way we connect with you. I deeply believe that Behemoth embodies transcendent, timeless art. The number thirteen – so magical and meaningful. If this is our last album, I could walk away with pride. Without a doubt, this is the purest and clearest representation of Behemoth. No filler, no superfluity – just the best we have to offer, for you. Hail S*tan”
Behemoth, a band with a long-standing reputation for confronting controversy head-on, continues tradition with their upcoming 13th album. Thirty-four years into their career, they’re unleashing what’s described as their most inflammatory and extreme work yet. The eight tracks delve into profound themes of humanity, divinity, and the essence of defiance in a world that champions individuality while simultaneously clinging to various forms of salvation – be it musical, political, or otherwise. The album’s intentionally provocative title, as frontman Nergal explains, perfectly aligns with these uncompromising sensibilities.
He said: “We chose this provocative title deliberately, rejecting subtlety in favor of a direct and polarizing statement. It’s a defiant plunge into the depths, daring to seek the absolute even in the gutter.”
