In an unexpected yet impactful collaboration, rock legends Mötley Crüe have released a new version of their classic 1985 power ballad, “Home Sweet Home,” featuring country music icon Dolly Parton. Beyond offering a fresh take on a beloved track, this joint effort serves as a powerful initiative to raise awareness and support for homeless youth.

The newly unveiled music video for “Home Sweet Home,” featuring Dolly Parton, seamlessly blends contemporary studio footage of Parton with vintage clips of Mötley Crüe from their formative years. Integrated throughout the visuals are touching messages highlighting the struggles faced by young people experiencing homelessness, directing viewers to Covenant House, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing shelter, meals, and essential support to this vulnerable population. A portion of the proceeds from this reimagined single will directly benefit Covenant House, an organization that Mötley Crüe has supported for a considerable time.

The band expressed deep satisfaction with the collaboration, particularly as they celebrate the 40th anniversary of “Home Sweet Home.” In a joint statement, Mötley Crüe commented on the significance of the partnership: “For an icon like Dolly Parton to sing on a song that has not only meant so much to us but to all the fans through the years, is a career high that means a lot to us.” They added that this unique re-recording also amplifies their long-standing commitment to social good. “That we were able to unite with Dolly to raise awareness for homeless youth and the amazing work of Covenant House, which provides them safe housing and care, makes it even more special.” The band concluded by expressing their hope that fans will “enjoy ‘Home Sweet Home’ featuring Dolly Parton as much as Dolly and we enjoyed creating it.”

Dolly Parton herself shared her enthusiasm for contributing to the project. “It was an honor and a joy working in the studio on Mötley Crüe’s 40th Anniversary re-release of ‘Home Sweet Home’,” she stated. “I was so pleased that they would ask me to sing on such a classic.”

This special version of “Home Sweet Home” will be included on Mötley Crüe’s forthcoming compilation, From The Beginning, set for release on September 12. The compilation will launch concurrently with the band’s anticipated Las Vegas residency at Park MGM. From The Beginning is poised to be a comprehensive collection, tracing the band’s storied career from their breakout single “Live Wire” to their 2024 track “Dogs Of War.” It will feature an array of their most iconic hits, including “Dr. Feelgood,” “Girls, Girls, Girls,” “Kickstart My Heart,” and “Shout at the Devil.” The CD version of the compilation will feature 19 songs, while an expanded vinyl edition will boast 21 tracks, including “Afraid” and the title track from their 2023 Cancelled EP.
