Decessus have signed with BLKIIBLK, the heavy metal imprint of Frontiers Label Group, and are at work on their first full-length record.
The Santiago quartet formed in 2020 around vocalist Ignacia Fernández, who assembled the lineup of guitarist Carlos Palma, drummer Martín Fénix and, more recently, bassist Jaime Pape. The deal follows the singles “The Hollow Descent” and “Dark Flames“.
Fernández announced the signing on behalf of the group.

Mike Gitter, head of A&R at Frontiers Label Group, described the reaction to the unreleased material.

When we heard the new material the band had recorded for the upcoming album, it was instant as it masterfully weaves together elements of death metal, progressive metal and djent in a thoroughly modern way that will cement Decessus on the world stage.”
The debut album has no announced title or release date.
The band’s international profile is largely down to what happened on November 2, 2025. Fernández performed a Decessus song during Miss Mundo Chile, backed by Palma on guitar, a growled death metal performance in a competition that has never seen anything like it.
The clip travelled fast. She had already turned heads at the semifinal stage, where her performance in front of the judges pushed her through to the final, and she went on to beat 19 other finalists to be crowned Miss World Chile 2025 at 28 years old.
She has been direct about why she did it. Rather than treat the pageant and the band as separate lives, she used the platform to argue against the assumptions people make about who sings extreme metal and has credited Arch Enemy as the band that showed her a woman could front music this heavy in the first place.
The past few months have moved quickly for her.
Kamelot brought Fernández in for “Ashen World“, released in July as a single from Dark Asylum, her first major guest appearance outside her own band. That album arrives August 28 through Napalm Records.
She will represent Chile at the 75th Miss World, held in Vietnam, with the final on September 5, 2026.
