Metallica New York 2025

Metallica is giving fans worldwide their first official look inside their recent, ultra-exclusive club show in New York with the release of a blistering live video for their iconic anthem, “Master of Puppets.” The pro-shot footage, released on Wednesday, September 10, captures the raw, condensed energy of the intimate, 500-capacity performance that was held to launch the band’s new SiriusXM channel and was attended by a star-studded audience including rock royalty like Paul McCartney.

The special concert took place on Thursday, August 28, in an outdoor tent at The Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, New York. In a massive departure from their usual stadium-sized productions, the event was a throwback to the band’s early days, offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a small crowd of lucky SiriusXM subscribers and fan club members. The exclusivity of the night was underscored by the guest list, which reportedly included Paul McCartney, Sylvester Stallone, Michael J. Fox, and Howard Stern.

While the audio from the concert has since premiered on the band’s new SiriusXM channel, ‘Maximum Metallica,’ the new video for “Master of Puppets” is the first official, high-quality visual footage to be released from the special evening. You can watch it down below.

The 14-song set was packed with hits and included several special moments. In a poignant tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo performed an instrumental “doodle” of Ozzy‘s classic solo anthem, “Crazy Train.” The night concluded with a thunderous three-song encore of “One,” “Master of Puppets,” and “Enter Sandman.”
