Metallica Says No More Dates Will Be Added To Las Vegas Sphere Residency

“At this point in time, we will not be adding additional shows, but we are hoping to offer more in the future.”

Metallica Live Virginia 2025

Metallica has issued a message expressing gratitude to fans for the overwhelming reaction to the band’s upcoming “Life Burns Faster” residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

Toward the end of last week, Metallica significantly expanded the residency, adding 16 additional performances and bringing the total to 24 shows. The run is set to begin in early October and will now continue into 2027. Each concert will follow the band’s “No Repeat Weekend” concept — first introduced with the launch of the “M72” world tour in 2023 — meaning that no songs will be repeated across the Thursday and Saturday shows.

The group initially unveiled eight Sphere performances scheduled between October 1 and October 31. Since then, more dates have been added in November (November 5 and 7), January (January 28 and 30), February (February 4, 6, 18, 20, 25 and 27), and March (March 4, 6, 11 and 13).

Earlier today, Metallica posted on its official website:

“Thank You, Sphere Fans!”

“Wow! What a week. We are so appreciative and grateful to all of you for the incredible response to our upcoming ‘Life Burns Faster‘ residency at Sphere in Las Vegas. We are completely and utterly blown away and cannot believe that we will have 24 amazing nights on stage there, all thanks to you and a record-breaking week.”

“At this point in time, we will not be adding additional shows, but we are hoping to offer more in the future. In the meantime, we hear you loud and clear that the ticket-buying process was often frustrating and not always smooth. We’re working with our partners to improve this experience and offer some remedies for the next time around.”

“We are looking forward to a very exciting 2026, starting off with seeing many of you in Europe this spring and summer as the ‘M72‘ tour hits the road again in May. Before we know it, we’ll be exploring new frontiers along with fans from around the world in Las Vegas, and we can’t wait!”

For many fans, getting their hands on tickets for the much-anticipated residency has proven to be a frustrating ordeal. Reports have circulated about steep pricing, with single-show tickets reportedly going for around $700 to $800, while VIP and multi-night packages have been listed between $1,000 and $2,900 according to San Francisco Chronicle.

The situation was further complicated during Wednesday’s presale, when numerous buyers encountered major delays while trying to complete their purchases. Ticketmaster later released a statement explaining that the slowdown was caused by malicious online activity.

“Yesterday, Ticketmaster blocked a targeted attack that tried to bypass our security systems. During this period, we paused and slowed queues on certain sales to protect tickets, and some fans had difficulty accessing parts of the site. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we worked to fight these bad actors.”

In response to the massive demand and ticketing issues, Metallica took to their social media accounts to warn fans about the dangers of the secondary market.

“PLEASE BE AWARE of false promises, inflated prices, and fraudulent offers from scammers.”

The band strongly urged fans to protect themselves by exclusively using their official ticket partners: TicketmasterSuperfan LiveVibee, and Tixr HQ.

The Las Vegas residency promises to be a visual and auditory spectacle, taking full advantage of the Sphere’s groundbreaking technology. Fans can expect immersive 4D elements, the world’s highest resolution wraparound LED display, and perfectly precise Sphere Immersive Sound as James HetfieldLars UlrichKirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo tear through their legendary catalog.

The “Life Burns Faster” residency is produced by Live Nation and presented by inKind, an app that rewards diners with special offers at thousands of restaurants while providing innovative financing options for the participating businesses.
