The demand to see Metallica at the Las Vegas Sphere is seemingly unstoppable. The band has officially added 10 brand new dates to their upcoming “Life Burns Faster” residency for February and March of 2027.
These newly announced performances bring the band’s total number of Sphere shows to a massive 24 dates. The original run kicks off this fall and will extend through early next year.
Newly Added 2027 Residency Dates:
- February 4 & 6
- February 18 & 20
- February 25 & 27
- March 4 & 6
- March 11 & 13
These shows will join the previously announced run, which features performances on October 1 and 3, October 8 and 10, October 15 and 17, October 22 and 24, October 29 and 31, November 5 and 7, and January 28 and 30.
Securing tickets for the highly anticipated residency has been a chaotic experience for many fans. Some have expressed frustration over reported ticket prices, with single-night tickets ranging from $700 to $800, and VIP or multi-night packages costing anywhere between $1,000 and $2,900.
Adding to the frustration, fans attempting to purchase tickets during Wednesday’s presale experienced significant delays. Ticketmaster later issued an official statement attributing the slow sales to malicious online activity.
“Yesterday, Ticketmaster blocked a targeted attack that tried to bypass our security systems. During this period, we paused and slowed queues on certain sales to protect tickets, and some fans had difficulty accessing parts of the site. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we worked to fight these bad actors.”
In response to the massive demand and ticketing issues, Metallica took to their social media accounts to warn fans about the dangers of the secondary market.
“PLEASE BE AWARE of false promises, inflated prices, and fraudulent offers from scammers.”
The band strongly urged fans to protect themselves by exclusively using their official ticket partners: Ticketmaster, Superfan Live, Vibee, and Tixr HQ.
Announced in late February following months of intense rumors, the “Life Burns Faster” residency will carry on the band’s popular “No Repeat Weekend” format. Just like their global “M72” world tour, fans attending the Thursday and Saturday shows will be treated to completely different setlists each night.
The Las Vegas residency promises to be a visual and auditory spectacle, taking full advantage of the Sphere’s groundbreaking technology. Fans can expect immersive 4D elements, the world’s highest resolution wraparound LED display, and perfectly precise Sphere Immersive Sound as James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo tear through their legendary catalog.
The “Life Burns Faster” residency is produced by Live Nation and presented by inKind, an app that rewards diners with special offers at thousands of restaurants while providing innovative financing options for the participating businesses.
