Due to an overwhelming surge in fan demand, heavy metal titans Metallica have officially added six more shows to their highly anticipated “Life Burns Faster” residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
The groundbreaking residency was initially announced on February 25 following months of intense speculation. The original schedule features eight performances booked for October 1 and 3, October 15 and 17, October 22 and 24, and October 29 and 31, 2026. Maintaining the popular “No Repeat Weekend” format introduced during their global “M72” world tour, the band guarantees completely unique setlists with no repeated songs across each Thursday and Saturday pairing.
Drummer and co-founder Lars Ulrich shared his massive enthusiasm for the project, explaining how witnessing the venue’s capabilities firsthand immediately inspired the band.
“About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in ‘23, I thought, ‘We have to do this. It’s completely uncharted territory!’ This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months’ time, and way f**kin’ psyched to go next level!”
“Surprise… the rumors are true! We’re officially bringing our No Repeat Weekends to Sphere in Las Vegas this fall,” the band said earlier in a statement. “Our Sphere residency, Life Burns Faster, will debut on October 1 & 3, with six more shows to follow.”
For those eager to secure their seats, the official Metallica fan club presale for the six new dates begins on Wednesday, March 4 at 1:00 p.m. ET (10:00 a.m. PT). Fans who already hold a Legacy or Fifth Member code can use it to access this newly added presale window. Purchasers will have several tier options to choose from, including Single-Night Tickets, 2-Night No Repeat Weekend Tickets, Enhanced Experience Tickets, and comprehensive Travel Packages.
The Las Vegas Sphere promises to push the boundaries of a traditional heavy metal concert. James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo will utilize the venue’s massive wraparound high-resolution LED display, Sphere Immersive Sound, and multi-sensory 4D technology to deliver a deeply immersive audiovisual experience. It marks a bold new chapter for a band that has already played to over four million fans across all seven continents since the launch of their recent world tour.
The “Life Burns Faster” residency is officially produced by Live Nation and presented by inKind, a rewards application offering special dining perks and financing for top-rated restaurants nationwide.
