Metallica Announce Intimate Long Island Club Show To Launch SiriusXM ‘Maximum Metallica’ Channel

To mark the launch of their new SiriusXM channel, Metallica will play an exclusive concert at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, Long Island.

Metallica Press Release

In a special event to mark the launch of their new SiriusXM channel, Metallica will perform an exclusive, intimate concert at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, Long Island, on Thursday, August 28. The news was revealed by drummer Lars Ulrich during his appearance on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show” this morning. The new channel, titled “Maximum Metallica“, is set to go live the following day, August 29, at 12 p.m. ET on Channel 42 and the SiriusXM app.

The performance at the legendary Hamptons venue, which holds just a few hundred people, will be a stark contrast to the stadiums the band has been filling on their massive M72 world tour. This show is the latest in a series of intimate concerts that SiriusXM has organized for its subscribers, with previous events at Stephen Talkhouse featuring artists such as Brandi Carlile, Coldplay, and Ed Sheeran.

Metallica announced the channel and the concert on their social media, expressing excitement for the new venture. The band stated, “We’re back on SiriusXM, this time to stay!! We are beyond excited to announce our all-new, year-round music channel, Maximum Metallica, launching on Friday, August 29, at 12 PM ET / 9 AM PT.”

The new channel, billed as “The Most Metallica Anywhere,” promises to be an all-encompassing experience for both new and longtime fans. The band confirmed that the programming will feature “the hits, deep cuts, live shows, rare recordings, and exclusive interviews, plus behind-the-scenes stories and surprises straight from us.” The channel will also be available for free in all SiriusXM-equipped vehicles throughout September, and non-subscribers can access a three-month trial via the app.

For those who won’t be able to attend the exclusive live performance, the entire show will be recorded and broadcast on the Maximum Metallica channel. The premiere is scheduled for Monday, September 1, at 12 p.m. ET, with multiple replays throughout the week and on-demand streaming available through the SiriusXM app. A separate contest for Metallica’s fan club, the “Fifth Members,” is currently running for a chance to win tickets. SiriusXM is also offering a trip for a fan and a guest from anywhere in the U.S. to attend the show.

Metallica concluded their announcement by thanking their “good friend Howard Stern for helping us share the news!”
