The all-star metal collective Metal Allegiance has announced its highly anticipated return to Anaheim, California, for its annual star-studded concert on Thursday, January 22, 2026. The show will see the core four members—David Ellefson, Mark Menghi, Alex Skolnick, and Mike Portnoy—joined by a massive lineup of guest musicians from some of the biggest bands in rock and metal.

The event, which takes place at the House Of Blues in Anaheim, will feature guest performances from Chuck Billy (Testament), John Bush (Armored Saint), William DuVall (Alice In Chains), Gary Holt (Slayer, Exodus), Andreas Kisser (Sepultura), Troy Sanders (Mastodon), Doc Coyle (Bad Wolves), and Jack Gibson (Exodus).

For the musicians involved, the yearly show has become a highlight of the calendar, a chance to kick off the new year by celebrating the music they love.

“It’s that time of year again…The annual Metal Allegiance bash in Anaheim is always the metal event of the year and 2026 will surely continue that tradition!” said drummer Mike Portnoy. Bassist David Ellefson added: “This is THE metal show to kick off the New Year right! This is where metal unites to get 2026 going around all things metal.”

The core of the event’s appeal is the unique opportunity for these icons to share the stage as both friends and fans. “I don’t even know how many times I’ve been a part of this now, but it’s always more fun than the last!” commented guitarist Gary Holt. “Can’t wait to jam with all my friends again!” Sepultura‘s Andreas Kisser shared that sentiment, stating: “We love what we do and we f**king love heavy metal! This is very real, pure passion for this music.”

According to the core members, the 2026 edition promises to be a particularly memorable night with unique surprises.

“This show will be a bit different… I know we’ve said that before and it always is, but this one is gonna be special and include some firsts, even for us!” teased bassist and founder Mark Menghi. Guitarist Alex Skolnick agreed: “This year will not only be no exception, but there are extra special surprises in store you’re not going to want to miss!”

The event is a must-see for fans, as Testament‘s Chuck Billy explained: “I always look forward to have the opportunity to jam with some of the best of the best in metal music. This is always the highlight of the NAMM show. Come join us for some fun.”
