Megadeth officially concluded the “Canada 2026” tour on March 6 with a thunderous final performance at the Centre Vidéotron in Quebec City. The trek, which featured heavyweight support from thrash peers Anthrax and Exodus, originally kicked off on February 15 in Victoria, British Columbia.
For fans who missed out on the final Canadian stop, full fan-filmed video of the entire Quebec City concert has surfaced online and you can watch it down below.
The tour is part of the promotional cycle for the band’s final studio album, simply titled Megadeth. The landmark record debuted at the number one spot on the U.S. album chart, moving 73,000 equivalent album units (including 69,000 pure sales). Released through Dave Mustaine‘s Tradecraft imprint via the BLKIIBLK label, the album was co-produced by Chris Rakestraw, who also worked on the band’s previous two releases, The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! and Dystopia.
Megadeth dominated globally, hitting number one in Australia and Austria while securing top-five placements in Finland, Sweden, Belgium, the U.K., Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and New Zealand. It marks another massive chart victory for the band, joining their long history of top 10 Billboard 200 entries like Countdown To Extinction, Youthanasia, Cryptic Writings, United Abominations, Endgame, and Super Collider.
Last August, Megadeth shocked the world by announcing their plans to retire following a farewell album and tour. Frontman Dave Mustaine took to social media to explain the decision, emphasizing his desire to end the band’s legendary run on a high note.
“There’s so many musicians that have come to the end of their career, whether accidental or intentional. Most of them don’t get to go out on their own terms on top, and that’s where I’m at in my life right now.”
Fortunately for the fans, the end is not immediate. Mustaine has since clarified that the band’s farewell world tour is expected to last “for another three to five years“.
