Megadeth Teases New Single ‘I Don’t Care’ From Upcoming Final Studio Album

Megadeth has unleashed a new teaser for “I Don’t Care,” the second single from their forthcoming final studio album. The full track is scheduled to make its online debut on Friday, November 14.

The song is taken from the band’s self-titled 17th album, Megadeth, which is set for release on January 23, 2026. The album will be released on frontman Dave Mustaine’s Tradecraft imprint, in partnership with Frontiers Label Group’s new BLKIIBLK label.

This release will be the thrash pioneers’ last, as Mustaine confirmed earlier this year that Megadeth will retire after a final global farewell tour. Mustaine explained that he wants the band to conclude its legendary career “on top.”

“There’s so many musicians that have come to the end of their career, whether accidental or intentional. Most of them don’t get to go out on their own terms on top and that’s where I’m at in my life right now,” Mustaine said when announcing the band’s retirement.

He urged fans to view the final tour as a celebration: “Don’t be mad, don’t be sad, be happy for us all, come celebrate with me these next few years. We have done something together that’s truly wonderful and will probably never happen again.”

Megadeth features 11 new tracks, including “Tipping Point,” “Hey, God?!,” and “Let There Be Shred. The album stunned fans when the tracklist revealed that the bonus edition will include a cover of Metallica’s “Ride the Lightning,” a song Mustaine co-wrote during his time in that band.

The Megadeth “Global Farewell Tour” is set to kick off in April 2026 with an extensive run through South America.
