Megadeth has officially unveiled the complete tracklist for their upcoming and final studio album, the self-titled Megadeth, which is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026.
The full tracklist is:

- “Let There Be Shred”
- “Puppet Parade”
- “Another Bad Day”
- “Made To Kill”
- “Obey The Call”
- “I Am War”
- “The Last Note”
The confirmed tracklist for the final Megadeth album has left fans buzzing, as one previously teased song is missing. Earlier social media posts had a blurred title many speculated was “Ride The Lightning,” sparking theories that Megadeth might cover the iconic Metallica track, given Dave Mustaine‘s writing history with the song.
Its absence from the final list suggests it may be a bonus track or part of a deluxe edition, a theory supported by Mustaine‘s own words from a June interview with Norwegian radio show “Stjernepose“, where he teased:
“We have 13 new songs for the new album… One of the songs is a cover song but I actually wrote it, so it’s kind of like a cover, kind of like my song. Then there’s two extra songs for when the record’s been out for a while just to keep everybody excited.”
In August, Mustaine shared that this would be their final album, with the band planning a global farewell tour in 2026.
He said “I have traveled the world and have made millions upon millions of fans, and the hardest part of all of this is saying goodbye to them.
“We can’t wait for you to hear this album and see us on tour. If there was ever a perfect time for us to put out a new album, it’s now. If there was ever a perfect time to tour the world, it’s now. This is also a perfect time for us to tell you that it’s our last studio album. We’ve made a lot of friends over the years and I hope to see all of you on our global farewell tour. Don’t be mad, don’t be sad — be happy for us all, come celebrate with me these next few years.
“We have done something together that’s truly wonderful and will probably never happen again. We started a musical style, we started a revolution, we changed the guitar world and how it’s played, and we changed the world. The bands I played in have influenced the world. I love you all for it. Thank you for everything.”
