Megadeth Performs ‘Tipping Point’ Live For The First Time In Amsterdam

Thrash metal legends Megadeth performed their new single, “Tipping Point,” live for the first time on Tuesday night, October 14, during their show at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The band, who are currently on tour in Europe as the support act for Disturbed, unveiled the track to a massive arena crowd, with fan-filmed footage of the debut performance now available online, and you can watch it down below.

Before launching into the song, which was officially released on October 3, frontman Dave Mustaine addressed the Amsterdam crowd.

“So, we have a new record coming out. And we have a new single that’s out right now. And we’re gonna play that song the first time ever right now,” he announced.

The song is the first single from the band’s upcoming seventeenth and final studio album, which will be self-titled, Megadeth. The record is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026, and marks the beginning of the band’s announced farewell. In August, Mustaine explained his decision to end the band’s four-decade recording career.

“Most of them don’t get to go out on their own terms on top, and that’s where I’m at in my life right now,” Mustaine said. “I have traveled the world and have made millions upon millions of fans, and the hardest part of all of this is saying goodbye to them… Don’t be mad, don’t be sad — be happy for us all, come celebrate with me these next few years.”

He continued, reflecting on the band’s monumental legacy. “We have done something together that’s truly wonderful and will probably never happen again. We started a musical style, we started a revolution, we changed the guitar world and how it’s played, and we changed the world… Thank you for everything.”

The live debut of “Tipping Point” is another major step in the long goodbye for Megadeth. It is the first live taste for fans of the final chapter of Megadeth‘s music, a chapter that will culminate in a new album and a massive global farewell tour in 2026.
