Megadeth Expands Farewell Tour With Two New Headlining Concerts In Wisconsin

Thrash metal icons Megadeth have expanded their extensive farewell tour schedule, announcing a pair of new summer headlining shows in Wisconsin.

Megadeth Farewell Tour Kickoff

Thrash metal icons Megadeth have expanded their extensive farewell tour schedule, announcing a pair of new summer headlining shows in Wisconsin. The band is scheduled to perform at the Oktoberfest Grounds in La Crosse on July 31, followed immediately by a concert at Capital Credit Union Park in Green Bay on August 1.

Tickets for the newly announced shows will first be made available to members of the Megadeth Cyber Army fan club, with an exclusive presale launching on Wednesday, May 20 at 10:00 a.m. CST. An additional presale will take place on Thursday, May 21 at 10:00 a.m. local time, before the general public on-sale begins on Friday, May 22 at 10:00 a.m. local time.

The Wisconsin dates arrive as Megadeth continues its massive global farewell touring cycle. The final run began earlier this year in tandem with the release of the band’s self-titled final studio album, Megadeth. The group initially announced their plans to retire from the studio and embark on a final tour last August.

The band’s swansong record marked a historic commercial milestone, securing their first-ever No. 1 debut on the United States charts. According to data from Luminate, the album moved 73,000 equivalent album units during its opening week, driven by a staggering 69,000 in pure physical and digital sales.

Despite the finality of their recording career, fans will have ample opportunity to catch the thrash pioneers live before they permanently step away from the stage. Frontman Dave Mustaine previously clarified the timeline in an interview with Kerrang!, stating that the farewell tour could easily stretch on for “another three to five years.”
