Thrash metal veterans Megadeth recently took the stage at the Heinz Von Heiden Arena in Hannover, Germany, serving as the main support act for heavy metal legends Iron Maiden. Fan-filmed video capturing the band’s entire June 2 performance has now surfaced online and can be seen down below.
During the concert, the group delivered a compact nine-song setlist. The opening slot featured staple hits alongside a few major surprises, including the tour debut of “Take No Prisoners” and an unexpected cover of the Metallica track “Ride The Lightning“. The band eventually closed out the show with their classic anthems “Symphony Of Destruction” and “Holy Wars… The Punishment Due“.

The current tour serves as part of the Megadeth’s prolonged farewell campaign, which was initially announced last August.
“There’s so many musicians that have come to the end of their career, whether accidental or intentional,” Dave Mustaine explained when detailing the band’s retirement plans. “Most of them don’t get to go out on their own terms on top, and that’s where I’m at in my life right now.”
The frontman has since clarified that while the recording of new studio albums has concluded, the farewell tour itself could realistically last “for another three to five years”.
