Megadeth has officially unveiled the first headlining dates for their previously announced global farewell tour. The thrash icons will begin the end of their live career with an eight-date headlining run through South America, scheduled for April and May 2026.

The tour is set to kick off on April 23 in Lima, Peru, and will hit major markets including Bogota, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, and Santiago, before concluding with a three-date run in Mexico.

This marks the first exclusive headlining run announced since frontman Dave Mustaine confirmed the band would be retiring after one final album and touring cycle. Tickets for the newly announced dates will be available first to Megadeth‘s Cyber Army fan club via pre-sales in early November, with general on-sales following shortly after. The band is also offering VIP packages, including photo ops and meet & greets.

This tour supports Megadeth‘s 17th and final studio album, the self-titled Megadeth, which is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026. The album recently made headlines when Mustaine confirmed it will include a bonus track cover of Metallica‘s “Ride the Lightning.”

When Mustaine first announced the band’s farewell in August, he explained his desire to conclude the band’s legacy on a high note.

“There’s so many musicians that have come to the end of their career, whether accidental or intentional. Most of them don’t get to go out on their own terms on top and that’s where I’m at in my life right now,” Mustaine said in his original statement.

“This is also a perfect time for us to tell you that it’s our last studio album. We’ve made a lot of friends over the years and I hope to see all of you on our global farewell tour,” he continued. “Don’t be mad, don’t be sad, be happy for us all, come celebrate with me these next few years. We have done something together that’s truly wonderful and will probably never happen again.”

These new headlining dates are in addition to Megadeth‘s other major commitment for 2026: serving as the direct support act for Iron Maiden on their “Run For Your Lives” North American tour.
