Megadeth Adds Two More Dates To Their South America Farewell Tour

Megadeth has rapidly expanded the initial South American leg of their global farewell tour, announcing second shows in both Bogotá, Colombia, and Santiago, Chile, following overwhelming demand for tickets. The announcement highlights the excitement surrounding the thrash titans’ final touring cycle, which is set to begin in April 2026.

The newly confirmed dates include an additional performance at the Movistar Arena in Bogotá, Colombia, on April 27, and a second show at the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile, on May 4. Both additions immediately follow the sell-out of the originally scheduled shows in those cities.

This eight-date run through Latin America marks the first exclusive headlining leg of the band’s global retirement circuit. The tour will now visit a total of eight major markets, kicking off on April 23 in Lima, Peru, and wrapping up with a three-date run in Mexico.

The extensive farewell tour is being mounted in support of Megadeth‘s 17th and final studio album, the self-titled Megadeth, which is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026.

Frontman Dave Mustaine confirmed the band’s decision to retire earlier this year, expressing his desire to conclude the band’s influential career on his own terms.

“There’s so many musicians that have come to the end of their career, whether accidental or intentional. Most of them don’t get to go out on their own terms on top and that’s where I’m at in my life right now,” Mustaine said in his original statement announcing the farewell.

He emphasized the celebratory nature of the final cycle. “Don’t be mad, don’t be sad, be happy for us all, come celebrate with me these next few years. We have done something together that’s truly wonderful and will probably never happen again.”

In addition to these headlining performances, Megadeth is confirmed to spend a significant portion of 2026 serving as the direct support act for Iron Maiden on their massive “Run For Your Lives” North American tour.

VIP packages, including photo opportunities and meet & greets, are already selling out for many of the initial dates, signaling the high demand for this final chance to see the thrash pioneers live.
