Megadeth Adds New European Dates To 2026 Farewell Tour

Thrash metal titans Megadeth have officially expanded the itinerary for their highly anticipated 2026 farewell tour. The band, led by founder and frontman Dave Mustaine, announced today the addition of six new headlining performances across Europe and Central Asia, offering fans in Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Türkiye, and Kazakhstan a final opportunity to witness the group live before they retire from the road.

The newly confirmed stops are scheduled for June 2026 and will run parallel to the band’s previously announced festival appearances and high-profile support slots for Iron Maiden. The new run includes open-air performances at the Amphitheater in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, and the Spartak Stadium in Almaty, Kazakhstan, marking a significant geographic expansion of their “final campaign.”

These dates coincide with the release of the band’s final studio effort, the self-titled album Megadeth, which is slated to arrive on January 23, 2026. The record will be released via Mustaine’s own Tradecraft imprint under the Frontiers Label Group’s BLKIIBLK label.

Fans can access pre-sale tickets for the new headlining shows starting tomorrow, December 3, at 10:00 am GMT / 11:00 am CET. General on-sale will follow on Friday, December 5, at the same times.

  • June 7 – Gelsenkirchen, Germany – Amphitheater
  • June 11 – Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg – Rockhal

While the tour is billed as a farewell, Mustaine has clarified that the “long goodbye” will not be a brief affair. Speaking to Kerrang!, the 64-year-old architect of thrash hinted that the final touring cycle could extend well into the latter half of the decade.

“If we’re going to be doing it for that long then, s**t, I’ll be looking at the birthday I don’t even want to think about,” Mustaine quipped, suggesting the tour could run for “another three to five years.”

In addition to these headline shows, Megadeth‘s summer 2026 schedule is already packed with major European festivals such as Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium, Hellfest in France, and Tuska in Finland. The band will also serve as direct support for Iron Maiden during their show in Hanover, Germany, on June 2.
