Mayhem New Album 2025

Norwegian black metal pioneers Mayhem have announced their return with a new, seventh studio album titled Liturgy Of Death. The album is scheduled for release on February 6, 2026, via Century Media.

To mark the announcement, the band has unveiled the album’s first single and music video, “Weep For Nothing.” The track is described as a “hymn to nothingness where grief becomes meaningless,” showcasing the band’s “cold and fast grandeur” and “razor-sharp riffs.”

Four decades into their career, Mayhem is focusing their new opus on the “inescapable reality of death.” The album is said to be a “merciless record” that “examines loss, fear of dying, powerlessness and the fragility of existence through a stark and unrelenting lens.”

Liturgy Of Death sees the current lineup—Necrobutcher (bass), Hellhammer (drums), Attila Csihar (vocals), Teloch (guitars), and Ghul (guitars)—locked in as a tight unit. The album is a “continuation of the raw and uncompromising sound” that defined their beginnings, capturing the band in their “most dangerous and vital form.”

In support of the album, Mayhem will immediately launch the “Death Over Europe” 2026 headlining tour. The trek features a massive support bill, with Marduk and Immolation joining all dates.

Liturgy Of Death follows their 2019 studio album, Daemon, and the 2023 live album, Daemonic Rites.
