A colossal new tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne was officially unveiled at the 2026 edition of Hellfest, drawing massive attention as one of the standout art installations at this year’s festival.
The six-meter-tall statue made its grand debut at the festival grounds in Clisson, France, where Hellfest is currently taking place from June 18 through June 21. Widely recognized as one of Europe’s largest and most influential heavy metal festivals, the event has a long-standing reputation for incorporating large-scale artwork and elaborate stage productions. However, this latest monument to the legendary Black Sabbath frontman has immediately stood out, even among the festival’s famously high visual standards.
Created by renowned French contemporary artist Philippe Pasqua, who is celebrated for his paintings, sculptures, and drawings, the towering piece is positioned prominently near the festival entrance, serving as a striking permanent homage to the Prince of Darkness.
On Wednesday, June 17, Sharon Osbourne took to social media to share a video of the incredible sculpture. While expressing her deep gratitude to the creators, she also revealed why she was unable to attend the unveiling in person.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t be at Hellfest for the unveiling of Ozzy‘s statue. Unfortunately I had an unexpected trip to the hospital earlier in the week. A big thank you Olivier Garnier, Ben Barbaud and everyone at Hellfest. Special thank you to @philippe_pasqua_officiel for the absolutely stunning statue!” she wrote in her post caption.
Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. Official records later confirmed that the iconic singer died from a heart attack, with coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease listed as contributing factors.
A private funeral service to honor his life and legacy was held on July 31, 2025, at his Buckinghamshire estate, which he shared with his wife. The intimate ceremony was attended by just 110 close friends and family members. Among the mourners were his former Black Sabbath bandmates, alongside several prominent figures from the rock and metal community, including Robert Trujillo, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, and Corey Taylor.
