Tyler Bates has confirmed that he is no longer part of Marilyn Manson’s current touring band. Best known for his work as an accomplished film and television composer, Bates has maintained a creative partnership with Manson for more than ten years. He became a touring member when Manson returned to the road in 2024, marking the shock rocker’s attempt to revive his career after facing a wave of allegations.
Addressing his departure in a statement issued yesterday, January 5, Bates wrote the following:
“Hello, Good People. Every New Year prompts reflection on all that has transpired and what lies ahead. In light of this, I have decided to conclude my time touring with Marilyn Manson to focus on my artist, film, and television projects. I have enjoyed every minute working and performing with my bandmates, Gil Sharone, Reba Meyers, and Matt (Piggy D) Montgomery. They are stellar humans on and off stage. I will miss performing with them for the incredible audiences we met around the planet in support of One Assassination Under God: Chapter One.”
“I’m stepping away, but I will be actively supporting the upcoming release of Chapter Two, my fourth album with Manson, which I believe is our finest work together. I wish M, the band, and the crew the best of success and good times moving forward. Thank you, the fans, for your loyalty and support of our new music and performances. I wish you all the very best for a fantastic and peaceful 2026. TB”
Bates’ Instagram post announcing the news also prompted responses from his now-former Marilyn Manson bandmates, including guitarist and vocalist Reba Meyers (Code Orange), who commented: “love you tyler will miss you up there.”
Drummer Gil Sharone added: “Much love Tyler!”.
Marilyn Manson also marked his 57th birthday yesterday, January 5. The polarizing artist celebrated the occasion with a high-profile party that drew an eclectic mix of musicians and industry figures, including Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins, former Hole frontwoman Courtney Love, ex-Manson and current Mötley Crüe guitarist John 5, composer Danny Elfman, Billy Idol guitarist Billy Morrison, former Manson collaborator Tim Skold, Better Lovers vocalist Greg Puciato, Manson’s ex-wife Dita Von Teese, death pop duo VOWWS, and numerous others.

Earlier in December 2025, Manson officially announced a new leg of U.S. dates for Spring 2026, extending his “One Assassination Under God Tour” following a year of high-demand performances across the globe.
