Mammoth Wolfgang Van Halen 2025

Mammoth mastermind Wolfgang Van Halen decided to have a little fun at the audience’s expense during the band’s recent tour stop in Cincinnati. Embracing the spirit of April Fool’s Day on Wednesday, April 1, the alternative rock frontman executed the ultimate bait-and-switch on the unsuspecting crowd.

During the concert, Wolfgang Van Halen addressed the audience, heavily teasing the possibility that he was finally going to perform a classic track by Van Halen, the legendary band founded by his late father, Eddie Van Halen, and where Wolfgang himself famously served as the touring bassist.

However, instead of launching into a highly anticipated guitar anthem, the frontman delivered a classic internet prank. The band quickly pivoted, busting into a partial live rendition of Rick Astley‘s inescapable 1987 pop hit, “Never Gonna Give You Up“, successfully “Rick Rolling” the entire venue.

Mammoth is currently wrapping up their North American headlining run, featuring support from 10 Years and James And The Cold Gun. Following a brief pause, the group will return to the road next week for an extensive tour supporting Bush.
