British metalcore outfit Malevolence has partnered with MMORPG powerhouse Blizzard Entertainment for a unique creative crossover. To celebrate the March 2 launch of the highly anticipated “World of Warcraft: Midnight” expansion, the developer challenged the band to write and record an original track in just half a day.
Rising to the occasion—and fueled by a dedicated WoW player within their own ranks—the band successfully delivered the new song, “Twelve To Zero“.
A newly released video documents the grueling 12-hour studio session, offering fans a detailed look at how the track was constructed. Malevolence shared the following statement about the project:
“We were given the challenge by Blizzard to create a song in 12 hours to celebrate their new expansion for “World of Warcraft: Midnight“. In the video we demonstrate how we build a song from the ground up including writing the lyrics, riffs, solos and breakdowns. Stick around to the end of the video to hear the fully mixed and mastered song in full!”
For viewers who want to skip straight to the finished product, the final, fully mastered version of “Twelve To Zero” makes its debut at the 10:37 mark of the video.
On top of their gaming collaboration, Malevolence is gearing up for a major milestone this spring: their first proper headlining tour across the United States. The “United Kingdom Metal and Hardcore Across North America 2026” tour will see them hitting the road alongside their friends and fellow UK natives, Guilt Trip.
The trek begins in late March in Detroit and wraps up in late April in Milwaukee.
