Drowning Pool’s planned return to South America has been called off, with the band’s May 2026 tour officially canceled before it could get underway.
The seven-date run was originally set to launch on May 20 in Bogotá, Colombia, and continue through late May with stops across several major cities in the region, including Lima, Santiago, Buenos Aires, Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, and a final show in Curitiba, Brazil on May 31.
Tour organizers confirmed the cancellation in an official statement, pointing to weak advance sales across all markets involved. As they explained, the decision “was made jointly by all local promoters involved due to low ticket sales recorded in all cities on the tour.”
With tickets already sold for the now-scrapped shows, organizers also issued clear instructions for refunds. Fans are being asked to go through their original point of purchase: “Customers who have already purchased tickets should request a refund directly from the company responsible for ticket sales in their respective city.
“For more information and specific guidance regarding the refund process, please contact the local promoter.
“Thank you for your understanding.”
The cancellation brings an abrupt end to what was initially promoted as a landmark moment for the band. When the tour was announced in early March, Drowning Pool shared their enthusiasm about finally reaching South American audiences, stating: “We’re super stoked to be playing in South America for the first time!”
In related news, during a recent interview with Matthew Thomas of “Super Cool Radio,” Drowning Pool guitarist C.J. Pierce shared an update regarding the band’s highly anticipated next studio album. Following a series of standalone singles released over the past year and a half, the Texas-based hard rock group is officially targeting a late 2026 release for their next full-length record.
The band’s recent output includes the singles “The Wrong One” (released in February 2026), “Madness” (April 2025), and “Revolution (The Final Amen)” (September 2024). Notably, “Revolution (The Final Amen)” marked the first collaborative music completed by C.J. Pierce, drummer Mike Luce, and bassist Stevie Benton alongside returning frontman Ryan McCombs in 13 years.
Speaking about the upcoming production schedule, the guitarist outlined the band’s immediate plans.
“The goal and plan is to get a record out, full-length, at the end of the year. We pushed it off again, just because of the timing to get in the studio and record, because there’s been so many shows. And then also the 25-year anniversary of the Sinner record’s [Drowning Pool‘s debut album] coming [up]. We’re gonna have some special limited-edition vinyls that I just ordered. I didn’t know plastic was so expensive these days, but it is. But hey, it’s gonna be out there. We haven’t had it before. So that’s coming out. So we’re gonna be playing the Sinner record in its entirety, which I’m looking forward to. I love that record. So it’s gonna be awesome, summer going into the fall, and then we’ll hopefully get the new record out by the end of the year, and keep on trucking along, man, into 2027.”
When asked what fans can expect musically from the new material, he emphasized the deep-rooted chemistry of the lineup.
“Mike and Stevie and myself, we’ve been friends since high school, and we’ve been on that rollercoaster life together for a long time, man. And that comes through in the music.”
The band is excited about the new material and is working to finish the album despite a busy touring schedule.
“I don’t wanna get too far into the new songs because there’s a lot of stuff on the plate, and at the end we put the compilation of what all flows together for the record,” C.J. Pierce noted. “But there’s a lot of deep stuff on there. There’s a lot of jammers on there. You can hear the excitement of having Ryan back in the band as well. So, a lot of cool stuff on the table. We’re all itching to get it done and get it out there. It’s just the timing of it. We have a little bit of time off now. We have a show in InFERNo [festival]— it’s right outside of Reno — on the 28th of March, and we have a little time in April, but then starting from May on, man, we’re gonna be pretty busy. So I’m trying to get the stuff down now sooner than later, so it’s ready to go at the end of the year.”
