A concertgoer attending Local H’s December 30 show at the Brat Stop in Kenosha, Wisconsin, got more than he bargained for after taking the band’s song “Bound For The Floor” a bit too literally. During the performance, the fan attempted a stage dive, only to discover there was little interest from the crowd in breaking his fall.
The poorly timed leap ended without much support from fellow attendees and drew a blunt reaction from Local H frontman Scott Lucas, who mockingly labeled the fan a “dips**t.” The band later weighed in on Stereogum’s coverage of the mishap, adding their own warning on social media: “Stage dive at your own risk. There is NO lifeguard on duty.”
Co-founded in 1990 in Zion, Illinois, Local H is a rock duo led by sole original member Scott Lucas, who handles vocals, guitar, and bass via a custom pickup setup. After establishing their signature two-piece sound with co-founder Joe Daniels, the band found major success on Island Records with the 1996 gold-certified album As Good as Dead and the hit single “Bound for the Floor”.
Throughout their 30-year history, Local H has remained prolific despite lineup shifts and industry changes. After Daniels’ departure in 1999, Brian St. Clair took over drums for over a decade, contributing to four albums including Here Comes the Zoo and Twelve Angry Months. Since 2013, Ryan Harding has filled the drum seat, appearing on the albums Hey, Killer and Lifers.
As of 2026, the band continues to be a force in the alternative scene. They recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of their debut album, Ham Fisted, with a special re-recorded edition titled ReFISTED and a 20th-anniversary vinyl reissue of Whatever Happened to P.J. Soles?.
