Linkin Park will debut their new single, “Up From The Bottom,” on March 27th. This marks their first release since their comeback album, From Zero, in November.
Band members Joe Hahn and Mike Shinoda have expressed strong enthusiasm for the track in a new interview with Billboard, with Hahn calling it “the best song we’ve ever made” and Shinoda praising its accompanying video as one of their finest.
Next week, Linkin Park launches their 2025 tour in North America. Subsequently, they will tour Europe and the UK, with a notable show at Wembley Stadium on June 28th. See all confirmed dates here.
“Up From The Bottom” is Linkin Park‘s first release since their 2024 comeback album, From Zero. This album was significant, marking their first studio effort since 2017’s One More Light, the longest gap in their discography. From Zero also introduced new members, vocalist Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain, following the passing of Chester Bennington and the departure of Rob Bourdon.
Mike Shinoda discussed the emotional aspects of Linkin Park‘s return in an interview with Kevan Kenney of KROQ last fall. He said at the time: “It’s really complicated. For me, two years ago it was very overwhelming, and I think the best thing that we did was to just basically let things happen in the order and at the timeline that they were gonna happen, let things happen organically and not push too hard. And I feel like what ended up evolving was we just naturally kind of found each other, we found this new lineup, we found Emily and Colin in particular, and the music just kind of came into focus based on what we were having the most fun doing.”
When Kenney remarked that From Zero “feels almost like a return to [LINKIN PARK‘s] roots,” Shinoda responded: “I love that there’s such a strong LINKIN PARK DNA in the record. It does really feel like LINKIN PARK, but I think there’s a part of it that’s the old sound and part of that’s every era of the band, to me, on the record.”
