As rumors continue to swirl — fueled by Fred Durst — about Limp Bizkit returning to the studio, guitarist Wes Borland has confirmed that he recently recorded new material. However, those sessions were not with his Limp Bizkit bandmates, but as part of a collaboration with composer and musician Danny Elfman.
In a social media post shared on February 22, Borland said he spent most of the weekend working on the tracks. He has also joined Elfman onstage multiple times over the past few years.
“Had the pleasure of working on Danny Elfman songs all weekend! This is going to be an amazing album!” he wrote on the picture posted from the studio.
He wrote in caption: “This is so fun. Thanks for having me Danny! The Fender VI has really been a staple recently and beyond from this record to The Wrecking Crew with @thehaxancloak.”
Wes Borland has recently been facing backlash over his recent remarks criticizing U.S. President Donald Trump. Earlier in January, he shared a message via his Instagram Stories in which he told followers who support Trump to unfollow him. The post stated:
“If any of my followers voted of support Trump or are still friends with anyone who supports the Trump administration you’re out. F**k You. Never contact me again.”
The post quickly spread beyond Instagram, gaining attention on platforms such as Reddit and elsewhere. Borland’s opposition to Trump is not new. He expressed similar views in 2016, when he publicly addressed Trump supporters and delivered a strong rant directed at Trump during his first presidential campaign. This post also drew the attention of another longtime Trump critic, Tom Morello. The politically outspoken Rage Against the Machine guitarist weighed in by sharing a screencap of Borland’s message on X, adding a lyrical nod to Limp Bizkit in response.
Borland returned to social media on February 6th, to mark his 51st birthday, using the occasion to renew his criticism of Trump and ICE while also directing some pointed remarks toward the Democratic Party.
His message stated:
“I guess if you’re mad at me say whatever you want to here. I just want everyone to be happy F**k Trump. F**k ICE. Democrats are without leadership except Bernie. Love AOC. So call me a Libtard here. Hail Satan. It’s also my birthday so you can wish me a happy birthday if you want.”
In a separate post, Borland wrote:
“Y’all hating me for not wanting hatred in the world is wild. Fine, keep voting against your best interests and telling me: stick to playing guitar. Never heard that one before.”
