In a move perfectly calibrated for maximum shock and confusion, nu-metal pioneers Limp Bizkit have returned with their first new song in four years, a track bearing the outrageous title “Making Love To Morgan Wallen.” However, in a classic bait-and-switch, the song is not a bizarre country crossover or diss track, but a high-profile partnership with the upcoming video game, Battlefield 6, proving the band has lost none of its signature flair for generating headlines.

The new single, which officially dropped on Friday, September 12, is the band’s first new music since their 2021 comeback album, Still Sucks. While the provocative title referencing the multi-platinum country superstar is pure Limp Bizkit, the song’s release is a savvy business move, emerging via a partnership with EA Games and Hollywood Records for the highly anticipated first-person shooter.

The collaboration with the Battlefield franchise is not a total surprise to keen-eyed fans. An early trailer for the game, which is set for an October 10 release, featured a high-energy remix of the band’s iconic 1999 anthem, “Break Stuff,” signaling that a partnership was in the works. The new song was also briefly teased earlier this month on the social media of Kristina Rybalchenko.

The release of “Making Love To Morgan Wallen” marks a relatively quick creative turnaround for the famously deliberate band, who kept fans waiting for a full decade between 2011’s Gold Cobra and 2021’s Still Sucks. This new music may signal the start of a new, more active era for the multi-platinum act.
