Limp Bizkit made a highly emotional return to live performance on November 29th, taking the stage for the first time since the passing of co-founding bassist Sam Rivers on October 18th, 2025. The 48-year-old musician, who had been the backbone of the band’s sound for decades, was remembered by his bandmates as “the pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound.”
The band chose to press forward despite the profound loss, opening their set at Estadio Fray Nano in Mexico City with a touching tribute to Rivers. Before the music began, fans were shown a video honoring the late bassist, celebrating his life and contributions to Limp Bizkit.
Filling in on bass for the evening was Kid Not (aka Richie Buxton), known for his work as a producer and songwriting partner for tour opener Ecca Vandal. Adding to the emotional weight of the night, Fred Durst joined Ecca Vandal onstage to provide guest vocals for her 2025 single “Cruising To Self Soothe.”
Drummer John Otto shared a heartfelt message on social media ahead of the show: “Today is going to be tough. A first I never wanted to experience. Especially not now. You’ve been there for so many major firsts in my life. Some of my earliest memories were made with you. We grew up together. Laughed together. together. Realized our dreams together. And traveled the world together. You’ve always been there. The godfather to my girls, my best friend-my brother. There will never be another you. We’re going to honor the life you lived and the love you spread with every show we play. You’ll always be with us.
“Thank you to our fans for all the messages of support and tributes to Sam. It means the world to us.
“This one’s for you Sammy.”
Kid Not also shared his respect for Rivers, noting on social media, “You schooled us all in low-end theory, and did it with such a humble, beautiful heart.”
This concert marked the first stop of Limp Bizkit’s Latin American ‘Loserville Tour,’ which originally featured Yungblud as direct support. Citing health issues, Yungblud withdrew from the tour, with Bullet For My Valentine stepping in to perform a 20th anniversary live celebration of their debut album, The Poison. Joining the lineup are also 311, frequent tour collaborator Ecca Vandal, rapper Riff Raff, and ‘ghetto metal’ act Slay Squad.
