Limp Bizkit Back In The Studio Recording New Material

Limp Bizkit has sent the rumor into overdrive with a new photograph shared directly from the recording studio, this time featuring the entire band together. Posted on April 30th, 2025, the image shows frontman Fred Durst, microphone in one hand and phone in the other, alongside guitarist Wes Borland, bassist Sam Rivers, drummer John Otto, and DJ Lethal. The cryptic caption accompanying the post consisted of just one word: “Nu.”

While no official statement has been released, fans are interpreting this as a strong signal that the influential nü-metal group is actively working on new material. This recent glimpse into their creative process follows earlier hints of studio activity. Back in October 2024, the band revealed that drummer John Otto, whom they affectionately dubbed their “human drum machine,” was tracking drum parts. The specifics of that session remained unclear, but this latest photo suggests the project is progressing, possibly moving into full band recording or even the mixing stages.

This potential new music comes relatively quickly for Limp Bizkit, especially considering their recent release history. Their last album Still S*cks, dropped in 2021, marking their return amidst a significant resurgence of interest in nü-metal. That album arrived after a full decade of waiting following 2011’s Gold Cobra. While Still S*cks contained tracks appreciated by fans, some commentary noted it felt somewhat inconsistent as a complete record. Prior to that, the gap between 2003’s Results May Vary and Gold Cobra spanned eight years, partly due to a band breakup during that period, making the current pace noteworthy for their dedicated fanbase. Many fans often prefer to overlook the Results May Vary era entirely.

Despite the long waits between albums historically, Limp Bizkit has maintained a strong presence through consistent touring. They’ve played shows across the globe, riding the wave of renewed appreciation for the heavy, unique sounds of the early 2000s. Their appearance at Australia’s Good Things Festival in late 2023 was met with a wildly enthusiastic reception, proving their lasting appeal Down Under. Currently, the band is keeping busy on the road, serving as support for Metallica on their massive “M72” tour for six dates, alongside Ice Nine Kills. Following that, they are scheduled to return to the UK in August 2025 as a sub-headliner under Bring Me The Horizon at the prestigious Reading & Leeds festivals.
