Lamb Of God Plays Cover Of Black Sabbath’s ‘Children Of The Grave’ On 2025 Headbangers Boat (Video)

Lamb of God delivered a powerful tribute to their heroes during their set on the 2025 Headbangers Boat cruise, performing their heavy rendition of the Black Sabbath classic, “Children Of The Grave.”

Fan-filmed footage has surfaced of the performance from the cruise, which sailed from Miami to Cozumel, Mexico, from October 31 to November 4. The cover has become a significant and emotional staple in Lamb of God‘s live set following their participation in the “Back To The Beginning” farewell concert for Ozzy Osbourne in July.

The band was personally invited to perform at the historic event in Birmingham, an experience frontman Randy Blythe has described as a massive honor. During a previous concert in the band’s hometown of Richmond, Blythe spoke at length about what that day meant to them.

“The members of… Black Sabbath… got together to play one final show in Birmingham, England. And they hit us up and they asked little old Lamb of God if we wanted to come to play,” Blythe told the crowd. “It was f**king a huge honor to be there… representing our city, this city in front of the four dudes who f**king created heavy metal. They were the first.”

Blythe also shared a personal moment he had with Ozzy after the show: “I got to hang out with Ozzy Osbourne. And he was in the best f**king mood. He felt the love.”

Randy emphasized that the band’s connection to Black Sabbath is fundamental to their existence. “We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Black Sabbath. None of us would be here right now if it wasn’t for Black Sabbath,” he stated, before dedicating the song to Ozzy.

After Osbourne‘s passing on July 22, Blythe recalled Ozzy‘s personal kindness, noting he “spoke out publicly on my behalf when I was facing serious legal issues.”

Following their performance at “Back To The Beginning,” Lamb of God released a studio version of “Children Of The Grave.”

Lamb of God being invited to perform with Black Sabbath at their final show is one of the greatest honors of our career,” guitarist Mark Morton said in a statement at the time. “As an offering to the celebration, we’ve recorded our take on their classic ‘Children Of The Grave‘, a protest song with lyrics that are as relevant today as they were in 1971 when the original was released.”
