Coffin bowls and bat wing collars join the Korn frontman’s pet line, with 10 percent of sales going to animal shelters.

Jonathan Davis built a dog accessories brand despite being allergic to dogs. Four years on, he has finally got round to cats.

The Korn frontman’s “Freak On A Leash” line has added its first feline range, out now through the brand’s own site. Ten percent of sales go to shelters and animal organisations in the Los Angeles area and elsewhere.

Four products make up the collection. The ceramic bowls come in light blue or black and are shaped like coffins. The Leather Lilac Studded Cat Collar uses lilac leather with gunmetal hardware, pyramid studs, a logo charm, a bell and a breakaway safety clasp. The Blue Rhinestone Nylon Cat Collar swaps the studs for black crystal accents. The Bat Wing Nylon Cat Collar adds leather bat wings to black nylon. All three collars carry the breakaway clasp, which releases under pressure if a cat snags itself.

Davis started the brand in 2022, previewing it at Aftershock in Sacramento that October alongside promoter Danny Wimmer Presents and the rescue organisation Take Me Home before a worldwide launch three weeks later. Announcing it at the time, he wrote: “These premium products are created for all, paying homage to the horror and rock music we love. This first collection, designed exclusively by me, contains all custom products made with high-quality gunmetal hardware, leather, nylon, and plushies that will set your pet apart from the pack.”

The dog side has kept growing since, most notably with a capsule collection made last year with designer Ashton Michael, whose clients include Beyoncé, Post Malone and Doja Cat. Proceeds from that run went to Pup Culture Rescue in Pasadena. Davis explained the appeal to trade press at the time: “The joy and love I get from my dog is like no other. It’s a special bond we have. To be able to make something to dress them up kind of like your own style… and then giving back to dogs who don’t have homes, it’s just something that makes me feel something warm in my dark little heart.”

The name comes from the obvious place. “Freak On A Leash” appeared on Follow The Leader in 1998 and went out as a single the following February, winning a Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video. An acoustic version cut with Amy Lee of Evanescence reached number 89 on the Hot 100 in 2007. The brand’s announcement puts the song past half a billion streams, though counts across platforms run higher than that.

It has had a busy year regardless. Davis performed a symphonic arrangement of it with Yoshiki at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in July, and Slaughter To Prevail‘s Alex Terrible released a deathcore version of it this week. Korn, who have sold upwards of 40 million albums, have new material written but nothing scheduled.
