Knocked Loose Defy Medical Emergencies And Car Accident To Continue Massive Tour With Metallica

Opening for Metallica is a major milestone in metal, offering huge exposure and symbolizing a passing of the torch in heavy music.

Knocked Loose 2024

In the metal music landscape, securing an opening slot for Metallica is the ultimate milestone. Sharing a stadium stage with the most commercially successful metal band in history doesn’t just expose an artist to tens of thousands of potential new fans each night, it represents a symbolic passing of the torch.

Kentucky metalcore heavyweights Knocked Loose earned that prestigious call for their 2026 European and UK stadium run. The band has already achieved massive milestones, including a Grammy nomination and a high-profile set at Coachella, all while maintaining their relentlessly punishing sonic identity.

This current overseas trek alongside Metallica and French progressive metal titans Gojira should be a pure victory lap. Instead, a series of severe physical misfortunes has turned the tour into an astonishing display of endurance.

As revealed in the premiere episode of the band’s new documentary webseries tracking the tour, frontman Bryan Garris faced a major medical scare just two days into the trip. While in Sofia, Bulgaria, Bryan Garris began experiencing sudden numbness on the left side of his tongue and face.

He was rushed to a local emergency room, where doctors diagnosed him with Bell’s Palsy, a condition typically triggered by swollen or torn muscles that results in temporary facial paralysis and muscle weakness. Though medical professionals strongly advised immediate rest to prevent permanent damage, the vocalist chose to fight through the illness. After receiving acupuncture and an initial round of steroidal treatments, he returned to the stage.

Bryan Garris addressed his health status on social media earlier this week, stating:

“Thank you to everyone that checked out the new mini doc on the Knocked Loose YouTube channel and thank you to everyone that reached out about my sudden onset of Bells Palsy. I’m doing good, taking care of my self, and resting when I can. The show must go on.”

In a bizarre turn of events, the band’s string of bad luck continued this week when guitarist and vocalist Isaac Hale (who also performs in Inclination and XweaponX) was struck by a car.

Despite the frightening nature of the accident, Isaac Hale released a characteristically casual social media update on May 29th, indicating that he has no intention of sitting out any upcoming performances. True to their word, the band has yet to cancel a single performance, successfully tearing through their scheduled stops in Germany yesterday and today.

Isaac Hale shared his brief update regarding the incident:

“Tour update got hit by a car yesterday felt bad but got this boba after and it was really good.”

Knocked Loose will continue their relentless touring schedule through June, hitting major European stadiums, arenas, and festivals.

Knocked Loose and rapper Denzel Curry have also officially announced a massive co-headlining tour across North America for Fall 2026. The announcement follows the success of their collaborative track “Hive Mind, which debuted earlier this year alongside a music video directed by Eric Richter and Knocked Loose frontman Bryan Garris.
