Kiss bassist and co-founder Gene Simmons recently reflected on a bizarre and memorable encounter with Hollywood actor Adam Sandler. During a new interview with Adam Lupis, the rock legend recalled an impromptu on-stage moment from several years ago where things took a wild turn.

According to the musician, the incident occurred at a charity event hosted by the comedian. Detailing the performance, Simmons explained:

“There was a band on stage and he asked me to get up and do a song or two. And of course Adam’s in there because he’s a real rock fan, jumping up and down.”

Explaining the climax of the story, the bassist noted how a simple photo opportunity quickly escalated into a chaotic interaction:

“And somebody was taking a photo of us. Of course, I wanted to turn Adam into my b**ch, so I stuck my tongue almost down his throat.”

Interestingly, Adam Sandler previously shared his own perspective of the exact same story during a 2019 television appearance alongside late-night host Conan O’Brien. While the actor remembered the setting slightly differently—claiming the incident took place at one of his private Christmas parties rather than a charity event—the core details of the story remained identical.

Reflecting on the unexpected physical interaction with the heavy metal icon at the time, Adam Sandler stated at the time:

“We’re on stage playing a Kiss tune [and Simmons] pulls out the tongue. The tongue comes out, 7-incher. [He] starts coming at the Sandman with the tongue, and I’m playing along, and then I’m like, ‘Oh man, he’s getting real close with the tongue.'”

Concluding his side of the story, the actor humorously added:

“[He] came at the Sandman, big tongue right to me. I think he gave me a couple of licks. And I took it like a man.”
