Kings of Thrash, the heavy metal collective featuring former Megadeth members David Ellefson and Jeff Young, has treated fans to a significant visual release. The Riff Crew has officially published a professionally shot video of the band’s entire performance from their 2024 tour of Australia. You can watch the video down below.
The newly released footage captures the group in top form and features a special guest appearance by another ex-Megadeth guitarist, Chris Poland. The audio for the full concert stream was mixed by Amesh Perera of Mysteriis Audio and Mammon’s Throne, ensuring a polished sonic experience to match the visual production.
While the band reflects on their Australian trek, they are also gearing up for immediate live action in South America. Kings of Thrash is scheduled to perform two shows in Argentina later this month: December 19 at the Arena South in Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, and December 20 in San Francisco Solano, Buenos Aires Province.
The release of the live footage comes amidst a busy creative period for the group. Late last month, Kings of Thrash confirmed they have signed a distribution deal with Cleopatra Records for an upcoming studio single. Although the title and release date remain under wraps, the band issued a statement promising an intensity that matches their pedigree.
“Get ready for an explosive track packed with killer riffs, electric solos, and nonstop headbanging moments. Stay tuned!!!” the band stated.
This upcoming release will follow the band’s original single, “Lockdown,” which dropped in May. That track signaled a major shift for the project, moving them from a live act celebrating Megadeth‘s classic 80s catalog into an active recording unit. The current lineup is completed by vocalist/guitarist Chaz Leon and drummer Fred Aching. The group operates as a collaborative democracy, with Ellefson managing business operations, Young curating setlists, Leon leading songwriting efforts, and Aching overseeing visual art and video content.
Prior to these recent singles, Kings of Thrash released the live CD/DVD package Best Of The West…Live At The Whisky A Go Go in March 2023. Like the new Australian footage, that release also documented their live chemistry and featured guest contributions from Poland.
