The controversy surrounding Sid Wilson‘s reported departure from Slipknot has taken another unexpected turn, with Kelly Osbourne sharing a series of emotional Instagram Stories that appear to be directed at her former fiancé.
While Osbourne did not mention Wilson by name, the timing of her posts has led many fans to connect them to the ongoing situation involving the Slipknot turntablist, whose reported firing has already sparked widespread discussion.
Over the course of roughly half an hour, Kelly shared multiple messages on Instagram, including one in which she appeared to demand accountability and distance herself from the situation.
She wrote: “Wake the f**k up take some responsibility I will not take your s**t anymore! I’m done. I want to be happy and I have a beautiful son to raise. Leave me alone. let me heal. I can’t protect you from yourself anymore.”
In another post, Osbourne addressed personal matters, writing: “Also while I’m at it can I have my dogs back and all my possessions. Oh yeah and maybe some child support?”
Osbourne also reposted two quote cards focused on protecting her son and shared music alongside the posts, including a track by Lewis Capaldi and the song “Love the Hell Out of You.”
Kelly and Sid Wilson share a son, Sidney, who was born in November 2022. The couple became engaged backstage at Black Sabbath‘s final concert in July 2025, but their engagement was reportedly called off in March.
The posts come shortly after TMZ reported that Wilson had been removed from Slipknot after nearly three decades with the band. The outlet initially reported on July 31 that the 49-year-old musician had been permanently dismissed, citing a source close to the band with direct knowledge of the situation.
A follow-up report from TMZ claimed that Wilson‘s exit was “a long time coming” and that Slipknot members had reached a breaking point.
According to the report, the decision to remove Wilson from the group “came after the band finally had enough of Sid‘s behavior … namely, the way he treated his bandmates.”
TMZ also reported that Slipknot had planned to announce Wilson‘s departure themselves, but the band “lost control of the rollout” after the outlet revealed the news before the group’s planned announcement.
The reports have not been officially confirmed by either Wilson or Slipknot, but the situation has continued to develop through social media activity.
Shortly after the initial reports surfaced, guitarist Jim Root shared a message on his Instagram Story that many fans believed was related to the rumors surrounding Wilson.
He wrote: “Don’t believe every thing you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information.”
Root did not name Wilson or reference the reports directly, and his post has been read both as a denial and as a request for patience. The band’s official channels have posted nothing about a lineup change.
Elsewhere in the orbit of the group, the wife of guitarist Mick Thomson drew attention with a post of her own, and Wilson‘s own social media activity since the reports surfaced has given fans little to work with.
He has appeared on every Slipknot studio album, through The End, So Far in 2022 and the long-delayed Look Outside Your Window project issued earlier this year.
Outside the band he has performed as DJ Starscream, a name taken from the Transformers character, since the 2000s, fronts his own project SID, and runs the label Vomit Face Records.
In August 2024, Wilson suffered severe burns to his face and arms in a bonfire explosion on his Iowa farm, requiring hospitalization.
If confirmed, Wilson‘s departure would continue a long run of turnover in a band that once presented itself as an unchanging nine.
Founding drummer Joey Jordison was let go in 2013 and died in 2021. Percussionist Chris Fehn parted ways with the group in 2019. Sampler and keyboardist Craig Jones exited in 2023. Bassist Paul Gray died in 2010.
That leaves Corey Taylor, Shawn “Clown” Crahan, Root and Thomson as the remaining members of the classic nine-man lineup. The current roster also includes drummer Eloy Casagrande, percussionist and keyboardist Michael “Tortilla Man” Pfaff, bassist Alessandro “Vman” Venturella, and an unidentified sampler who joined in 2023.
