Kataklysm have moved their debut Dubai concert from September 18 to 2027, joining a run of UAE events postponed this year.
Kataklysm have postponed their first concert in Dubai until 2027, pointing to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The band issued the following statement on Friday:
“Hello brothers and sisters from Dubai,”
“We’re sorry to announce that the Kataklysm show scheduled for September 18 has been postponed to 2027. The promoters for the show have been excellent and accommodating in every way possible, but due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, we are forced to postpone Kataklysm’s first appearance in Dubai.”
“We’re sorry for this situation, but we’ll be there in 2027!”
The show was booked for Friday, September 18 at the P7 Arena inside the Media One Hotel in Dubai Media City, promoted by Resurrection Metal Events Dubai. Doors were set for 7pm, the event was listed as 21 and over, and tickets started at AED 295. No replacement date has been given beyond the year.
The United Arab Emirates has seen a substantial number of postponements across its events calendar since the spring. Christina Aguilera‘s Etihad Arena concert moved from April 24 to September 25. Abu Dhabi’s Offlimits festival, headlined by Shakira and the Jonas Brothers, shifted from April 4 to November 21. A double bill of A1 and Music Travel Love at the Coca-Cola Arena went from March 28 to April 2027. Art Dubai was pushed to May, while the Bred festival at Yas Marina Circuit was postponed without a new date and tickets refunded.
Kataklysm formed in Montreal in 1991 and have released fifteen studio albums, the most recent being Goliath, issued on August 11, 2023 through Nuclear Blast. The band, fronted by Maurizio Iacono, has toured Europe, North and South America, Australia, Asia and South Africa across three decades, and remains on the road through the rest of this year.
