Her brother says she has settled into a routine with her son, five months after the end of an engagement that began at her father’s last concert.
Jack Osbourne says his sister Kelly is doing better since her separation from Sid Wilson.
Speaking to The Sun, he described where she is now. “She’s living her country life, and she’s just doing her thing, being a mum,” he said.
“She’s in a happier place and she’s got a good routine going. She’s focusing on her and her son,” Jack added.
Kelly Osbourne and Wilson met in 1999, when Slipknot toured Ozzfest, the festival founded by her parents. They were friends for more than two decades before anything else.
She made the relationship public on Valentine’s Day 2022. “After 23 years of friendship, I can’t believe where we have ended up. You are my best friend, my soulmate, and I am so deeply in love with you,” she wrote. Their son Sidney, named for Wilson, was born later that year.
Wilson proposed on July 5, 2025, backstage at “Back To The Beginning” at Villa Park, in front of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne and a group of family and friends. “In front of your family and all of our friends: Kelly, will you marry me?” he asked.
Ozzy Osbourne died seventeen days later.
Reports that the engagement had been called off emerged in March 2026, roughly eight months after the proposal and a matter of weeks after the couple were last photographed together at the Grammy Awards. Neither of them publicly confirmed it at the time.
In early August, Kelly published a series of posts on her Instagram Stories that were widely read as being about Wilson, though she did not name him. They have since been deleted.
“Strange how the loudest defense of the guilty is rarely innocence… It’s distraction,” she wrote at the time. “When the mask slips, they don’t face the mirror they throw it at someone else.”
“My son’s little heart once beat right beside mine. So trust me when I say… I will protect it at all costs.”
She continued: “My job is to protect my kids. Not your feelings. Not your expectations. Not judgments I didn’t ask for. My responsibility is to protect their wellbeing. Their nervous systems. Their emotional safety.”
“I will choose them every single time. Over anyone. Over everything.”
Her final message drew the widest attention: “Also, while I’m at it, can I have my dogs back and all my possessions. Oh yeah and maybe some child support?”
In a separate post she wrote that she wanted to be happy and had a son to raise, and asked to be left alone.
She wrote: “Wake the f**k up take some responsibility I will not take your s**t anymore! I’m done. I want to be happy and I have a beautiful son to raise. Leave me alone. let me heal. I can’t protect you from yourself anymore.”
Kelly‘s August 3 posts followed TMZ‘s July 31 report that Wilson had been removed from Slipknot after 28 years with the band.
Guitarist Jim Root posted a message on the day the story broke, telling followers not to believe everything they read and to wait for more information.
Root later addressed this post urging Slipknot fans not to trust reports of Wilson‘s firing.
Root wrote: “You couldn’t even believe what I wrote. At the time I wrote it… I didn’t know what to believe. I stand by it though. I still don’t think anyone should believe everything that they read. Time will tell. As it did for my post that didn’t age well.”
The wife of guitarist Mick Thomson drew attention with a post of her own, and Wilson‘s own social media activity since the reports surfaced has given fans little to work with.
A follow-up report from TMZ claimed that Wilson‘s exit was “a long time coming” and that Slipknot members had reached a breaking point.
According to the report, the decision to remove Wilson from the group “came after the band finally had enough of Sid‘s behavior … namely, the way he treated his bandmates.”
TMZ also reported that Slipknot had planned to announce Wilson‘s departure themselves, but the band “lost control of the rollout” after the outlet revealed the news before the group’s planned announcement.
His first post after the report was a promotional video for a new independent merchandise store. Days later he declined to answer questions outside a Los Angeles recording studio. Later, co-hosting The World Scratch Invitational, he introduced himself to the crowd as “Sid, DJ Starscream/#0, from the world famous Slipknot.”
On August 14, Slipknot published a statement on their social channels confirming that Sid Wilson is no longer in the band. It was taken down shortly afterwards.
The post read: “Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson.”
“We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
“Slipknot“
2 days later, Sid Wilson changed his Instagram bio from ‘gang since 1997’ to ‘1997-2026’’, two days after Slipknot‘s deleted statement.’
This is the third time Slipknot have announced a departure and then deleted the announcement. In June 2023 a message reading “To our fans, Slipknot is announcing that we have parted ways with Craig Jones. We wish Jones all the best for the future” appeared on the band’s channels and was removed. Five months later, the statement announcing Jay Weinberg‘s exit, which said the band “has decided to make a creative decision, and to part ways with Jay“, was posted and likewise disappeared.
