Jack Osbourne has shared a raw and emotional glimpse into the aftermath of his father’s death, describing Ozzy Osbourne’s passing as a “shock” despite the family’s knowledge of his declining health. The candid conversation aired during the Monday, November 17 episode of the U.K. reality series I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, just days after the 25th season launched.
The 40-year-old media personality is currently one of ten contestants braving the Australian jungle. During a quiet moment in the camp with fellow contestant and soap opera actress Lisa Riley, Jack reflected on the loss of the heavy metal icon, who passed away on July 22, 2025, following a heart attack.
Although Ozzy had battled highly publicized health issues—including Parkinson’s disease and severe spinal injuries—for years, Jack revealed that the end still caught the family off guard.
“We knew he was sick for a while, but it was definitely a shock,” Jack admitted to Riley. “It was like… we didn’t think it’d be that quick.”
The conversation inevitably turned to the historic “Back To The Beginning” concert, held just 17 days before the singer’s death. The massive event at Villa Park in Birmingham saw Ozzy perform two legendary sets—one solo and one reuniting the original Black Sabbath lineup—supported by titans like Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, and Tool.
Looking back, Jack views that final triumph not just as a concert, but as a definitive statement of his father’s legacy.
“It was the ultimate mic drop: do a massive, big gig and then was like, ‘Alright, I’m done,’” Jack said.
Despite the heaviness of the topic, Jack managed to find humor in his current situation, speculating on what his father would think about him sleeping outdoors and eating insects on national television.
“He’s looking at me, being like, ‘What the [f**k] are you doing?’” Jack laughed. “He’d be so supportive of this. The whole family was. They were like, ‘Absolutely, go do it.’”
In a private confession to the camera later in the episode, the reality of the timeline set in. Jack acknowledged that while he is participating in the show, the grieving process is far from over.
“It’s been three, nearly four months, so it’s still pretty fresh,” he said.
The death of Ozzy Osbourne at age 76 marked the end of one of rock music’s most enduring lives. After retiring from full-scale touring in 2023 due to his physical limitations, the “Back To The Beginning” show was intended to be a final farewell to his hometown fans. Few realized just how final it would be.
