Continuing to stack their 2026 50th-anniversary tour with Europe’s most prestigious festival slots, Iron Maiden has now been confirmed as a headliner for Germany’s legendary twin festivals, Rock am Ring and Rock im Park. The iconic band will top a colossal bill that also includes fellow headliners Linkin Park and Volbeat.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, September 23, with the band confirming their appearance on social media.
“The Run For Your Lives World Tour comes to @rockamringofficial @rockimparkofficial in 2026!” the band posted.
The prestigious booking is the latest major addition to the band’s “Run For Your Lives” 50th-anniversary tour, a final European run deliberately focused on major festival stages before the band takes a planned touring hiatus in 2027. The lineup for the German festivals is a testament to the event’s scale, featuring a massive undercard that includes Bad Omens, Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach, Sabaton, The Offspring, A Perfect Circle, Architects, Trivium, and many more.
The focus on major festival appearances is a deliberate strategy for the band’s 2026 dates. In a recent statement, bassist Steve Harris explained, “We’ve always enjoyed playing festivals, especially as we get to play to people who aren’t just there for us, and we love that challenge! So we decided to revisit as many great Metal festivals as we could get to in this period.”
The 2026 tour will be the last chance for fans to see the band live for the foreseeable future, as Iron Maiden has confirmed they will take a “well-earned break from the road in 2027.” The addition of Germany’s premier rock festivals to their schedule is another clear sign of the band’s intent to make their 50th-anniversary celebration a truly monumental event.
