Iron Maiden have put out official footage from the two Scotiabank Arena nights that opened the North American leg of the “Run For Your Lives” tour.
Iron Maiden have released an official video recap from the pair of sold-out Toronto shows that started the North American run of their 50th anniversary tour.
Both nights at Scotiabank Arena sold out, with the band playing sets running past the two-hour mark. The shows opened with “Murders In The Rue Morgue” and drew across the band’s first nine albums, taking in “Hallowed Be Thy Name“, “Run To The Hills“, “The Trooper“, “The Number Of The Beast“, “Killers“, “Wasted Years” and “2 Minutes To Midnight“.
The set carried over almost intact from the 2025 European leg, with a single addition. “Infinite Dreams“, from 1988’s Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, went back into the running order for 2026, and its appearance in Toronto was the first time the song had been played in Canada since the tour behind that album in 1988.
The Toronto dates fall 45 years after Iron Maiden first came to Canada and the United States, on the 1981 “Killer” world tour. The band’s press material describes the 2026 run as containing some of the largest shows they have played on the continent.
The North American dates were announced last October. Rather than the arenas the band has generally worked in, the tour is routed through stadiums and major amphitheatres, a decision made to accommodate a production built for outdoor stages and to give the band darkness by the time they go on.
Iron Maiden are also carrying over the request they made to audiences before the tour began in May 2025, asking people to keep phone camera use to a minimum out of respect for the band and for those around them. That policy stands for the 2026 legs. The band also intend to take 2027 off the road entirely.
The band headline the opening night of Louder Than Life on September 17 at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, a festival the band’s press material bills as the biggest rock festival in America. The four-day event runs through September 20.
That Thursday bill is heavy even by the festival’s standards. Alongside Iron Maiden, it carries Pantera‘s only United States show of 2026 and one of the final dates on Megadeth‘s farewell tour, with Alice Cooper, Anthrax, Danzig and Rise Against also playing.
Iron Maiden are due to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Los Angeles on 14 November and do not plan to attend. The band have never hidden their view of the institution, Bruce Dickinson once described it as “an utter and complete load of bollocks.”
