Trafalgar Releasing has officially unveiled a brand-new trailer for the highly anticipated Iron Maiden feature-length documentary, officially titled “Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition.” Chronicling half a century of heavy metal dominance, the film is scheduled for a limited global theatrical run beginning on May 7, 2026, with tickets currently available for purchase.

Directed by Malcolm Venville (“Churchill At War“) and produced by Dominic Freeman (“Spirits In The Forest – A Depeche Mode Film“), the movie provides an in-depth look at the band’s staggering 50-year career. Alongside exclusive reflections from the band members themselves, the documentary features on-screen appearances from high-profile fans, including Academy Award-winning actor Javier Bardem, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, and Public Enemy frontman Chuck D. These admirers discuss the British group’s massive global impact on music, culture, and multiple generations of fans.

Fans got their first taste of the project’s aesthetic back in February when the striking key art, designed by Albert “Akirant” Quirantes, was released online.

The cinematic event perfectly aligns with the group’s ongoing 50th-anniversary celebrations. Iron Maiden is touring across the globe on their massive two-year “Run For Your Lives” world tour. The impressive itinerary includes a triumphant homecoming gig at London Stadium, just a short distance from where the band formed 50 years ago, as well as the upcoming “EddFest.” Set for July 11 at England’s historic Knebworth Park, the one-of-a-kind festival event serves as one of over 50 global performances scheduled for 2026. The milestone anniversary is also being commemorated with the release of the band’s first-ever official visual history hardcover book, titled “Infinite Dreams.”

Founded in East London in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris, Iron Maiden has evolved into an undisputed global institution. Over the last five decades, the legendary outfit has issued 17 studio albums, 13 live records, and 47 singles, resulting in over 100 million albums sold worldwide.

Famous for touring the globe aboard Ed Force One, a Boeing 757 and later a 747 piloted directly by frontman Bruce Dickinson, the band has played roughly 2,500 shows across 64 countries. Beyond their Grammy and Brit Award wins, the band recently joined the elite company of The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd by receiving their own dedicated Royal Mail stamp set. Their commercial empire also extends to the beverage industry with their massively successful Trooper Beer, which has sold over 40 million pints across 68 countries over the last 12 years.
