In Flames Live 2025

Swedish metal veterans In Flames officially introduced Jon Rice as their new touring drummer during their performance on Monday night (June 2) at Noblessneri Valukoda in Tallinn, Estonia. This marks a new chapter for the band following the recent departure of Tanner Wayne, who had been behind the kit for the past seven years.

The setlist for the show was as follows (according to Setlist.fm):

  1. “Pinball Map”
  2. “The Great Deceiver”
  3. “Deliver Us”
  4. “In the Dark”
  5. “Voices”
  6. “Coerced Coexistence”
  7. “Only for the Weak”
  8. “Cloud Connected”
  9. “Trigger”
  10. “Meet Your Maker”
  11. “The Quiet Place”
  12. “State of Slow Decay”
  13. “Alias”
  14. “The Mirror’s Truth”
  15. “I Am Above”
  16. “Take This Life”
  17. “My Sweet Shadow”

Fans captured footage of the Tallinn concert, offering a first look at Rice‘s integration into the In Flames lineup. Rice is no stranger to high-profile touring roles in the metal scene, having previously filled in for Behemoth‘s Inferno on multiple occasions, including their 2017 North American tour with Slayer, select headlining dates in 2019, and a South American tour in late 2024. His extensive resume also includes stints with Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats (appearing on their 2018 album Wasteland), the reactivated The Red Chord, Norwegian black metallers Tjusder, Job For A Cowboy, and Scorpion Child.

Tanner Wayne, known for his work with Underminded, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, and Chiodos, joined In Flames in the summer of 2018, making his live debut with the band on July 4, 2018, in Brno, Czech Republic. He had stepped in after Joe Rickard, who played on the band’s 2016 album Battles, departed.

In Flames announced Wayne‘s departure on May 27 via social media, issuing a statement that read: “It is with profound gratitude and appreciation that we announce our creative decision to part ways with Tanner Wayne. His dedication and musicianship over the past several years has left, and will continue to leave, a lasting mark on this band. We wish him nothing but the best. We appreciate your support and understanding at this time and hope to see you all on tour this summer.”

The band is currently on tour supporting their latest album, Foregone, released in February 2023 via Nuclear Blast. The album is described as combining “the greatest aggressive, metallic, and melodic strengths of their landmark records with the seasoned songwriting of their postmodern era.”
