Michigan rock powerhouse I Prevail has dropped a potent new single, “Violent Nature,” accompanied by a music video directed by Orie McGinness. The track, released via Fearless Records, is described by vocalist Eric Vanlerberghe as an intense burst of energy.
“‘Violent Nature’ is aggressive, fast, and heavy. All packed into two minutes and 10 seconds,” Vanlerberghe declared. “Turn it up and put your head through the f**king wall.”
This new single marks I Prevail‘s first release since the band officially parted ways with original clean vocalist Brian Burkheiser earlier in May 2025. Burkheiser had previously stepped back from extensive touring due to his battle with Eagle’s syndrome. With Burkheiser‘s departure, Vanlerberghe, who has long handled the band’s heavier vocals, has taken on full frontman duties, with guitarist Dylan Bowman continuing to provide vocal support live, a role he has often filled in the past.
“Violent Nature” follows the band’s latest full-length album, 2022’s critically acclaimed True Power. In October 2024, I Prevail released an expanded edition of True Power, which featured one new song, “Hate This Song” (a collaboration with All Time Low), along with reimagined versions of album singles “Bad Things,” “There’s Fear In Letting Go,” and “Deep End.”
I Prevail‘s current lineup consists of Eric Vanlerberghe (Vocals), Steven Menoian (Guitar), Gabe Helguera (Drums), Dylan Bowman (Guitar), and Jon Eberhard (Bass).
The band has risen to arena-level status, earning two Grammy nominations (Best Rock Album for Trauma and Best Metal Performance for “Bow Down”). Their single “Hurricane” topped Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart in 2020, and several of their tracks have achieved gold and platinum certifications, garnering praise from major outlets such as Forbes, Billboard, and NPR.
